Wow! What can I say about Heather and Brian’s wedding! It was the most special one I’ve ever done because Brian is my cousin. :) They were married in a beautiful memorial gardens surrounded by farmland on a perfect summer day, a light breeze softly blowing her veil. It was a wonderful weekend.

I’m warning you now, I could not narrow the pictures down any more than this, so be prepared for lots!!!! Here we go:

[ Heather and her sister and mom getting their hair done. This reminds me of one of those old fashioned pictures from the 50's or 60's of the ladies sitting all in a row under the hairdryers. I like it (even though Heather's eyes are closed). ]

[ Heather and her sister have such beautiful smiles and great laughs! ]

[ the ceremony site. just beautiful. flowers everywhere. we had so many nice places for pictures. it was gorgeous! ]

[ this shot cracks me up. heather carrying her dress into the house. ]

[ Kyleigh didn't like getting her hair done. ouch! ]

[ a gift from the groom ]

[ karate kid ]

[ the guys. that's my brother Tim just to the left of the groom. Hi Tim! ]

[ the flower girls were so fun to take pictures of. such cuties! ]

[ the ring bearer didn't quite know what to do. but isn't he adorable. ]

[ heather's mom walked her down the aisle. this is the point where I started to tear up, especially when I saw Brian holding in the tears and my aunt crying. it's hard to take pictures when your eyes are stinging. :) ]

[ the beautiful girls. ]

[ didn't I say the little girls were the cutest. I did not set this shot up. She climbed up on the hill and said she wanted her picture taken. how cute is that! ]

[ i love this one!!!! ]

[ brian's brother Brad gave a very entertaining best man speech. laughed so hard my cheeks hurt from smiling. ]

[ smoking cigars. so classic. ]

[ i love this one, too. can you tell I have a lot of favorites? what I love about it ... heather's beautiful smile as she gazes into her new husband's eyes, the song "From This Moment On" playing as they danced (you can't see that in the picture, but I can still hear it when I look at this shot), and the farm buildings in the background. Farming is a huge part of their lives down there in Ohio. My uncle has farmed his whole life and his father before him so Brian has grown up farming. And I thought this was a nice way to show that. ]

[ that's my brother Rick in the middle with the video camera trying to record himself catching the garter. but it was snatched from him. ]

[ the sunset was absolutely gorgeous. ]

[ took this one on our drive back to Michigan at the end of the day. ]

It was a perfect weekend, a beautiful wedding. I loved being surrounded by family that I love and only get to see a few times a year. They are so special and important to me.

Brian and Heather, I love you guys! I’m so happy for you and so happy to have a new cousin. :) Happy honeymoon!

The wedding this weekend was fabulous! As soon as I heard that Erinn was engaged, I was hoping that she would call and ask me to do the pictures for her. I’m so glad that she did!!! I’ve been looking forward to the wedding ever since. It was a wonderful, relaxed day with friends. The ceremony was just beautiful. I felt so blessed to be there witnessing my friend marrying the man of her dreams and being able to capture these moments for them. Here are some moments and details from the wedding:

[ erinn and kevin chose to see each other before the ceremony so we could get all of the posed pictures out of the way. they were so sweet together. he looked so in love when he saw his beautiful bride. ]

[ beautiful flowers by the very talented Janna Jackson ]

[ love this shot of Kevin's dad and sister relaxing before the ceremony ]

[ the kids weren't quite sure if they wanted to walk down the aisle after all ... ]

[ ... but everyone made it down the aisle just fine. ]

[ the father of the bride chatting with my mom 'n dad ... hi Mom! ]

[ I won't go into detail about the Diet Coke as not to embarrass the new Mrs. Haisch ]

[ but she had to go and bury her head in Daddy's chest right after. those of you who were there know why! :) ]

[ the Newlywed Game! so fun! Erinn and Kevin got pretty much all the answers right. ]

[ the sparkler sendoff ]

Congratulations you guys! Love you!

This past Saturday, I spent the day on the campus of MSU for Lisa and Matt’s wedding. It was a gorgeous day to get married and the event was just beautiful. We spent the morning with Lisa at the salon and had lunch with the guys at Lou & Harry’s, one of the couple’s favorite restaurants around campus. The ceremony was held at the Alumni Chapel on campus, which is this quaint little place right on the river. We took a walk around campus after the ceremony and took fun pictures at all the campus landmarks, then headed to the MSU Stadium, where the reception was held in the LaSalle Bank Club on the 4th floor. The details were simple and elegant – bright flowers on all the tables with pictures of New York landmarks on the Table #’s. Lisa and Matt live in NYC now, but came back to their alma mater for their big day! :) It was a wonderful day and we had a great time! Thanks to Lisa and Matt and their family and friends for being so nice and so fun!

Here are a few moments and details from the day:

Congratulations, Lisa & Matt! SLIDESHOW coming soon!

why I love what I do

I got two of the sweetest emails yesterday. Made me smile (and laugh). :)

I heard from Reverend Brian, who was the officiant for Julie and Terry’s wedding last fall. He is such a nice guy. If you’re looking for someone to marry you, he does a wonderful job and will travel for weddings.

I laughed out loud when I read the first couple sentences of his message:

“I see you are busy as ever, and I couldn’t resist wandering through your website this morning. Please forward the 50 minutes time I spent daydreaming inside your website, back to me via email, as I need it back today.” :)

Such a funny guy!

I also got the nicest email from Holly’s mother, one of my brides from last year. She totally made my day with her sweet message.

“Krista, I just visited your blog and once again!!!!!!!!!! your wonderful photography/artwork shines!!

Kristin and Wil’s pics are great and I also enjoyed the other events you have recently covered!

Just a couple weeks ago, late at night, I should have been in bed, I just HAD to visit your website and watch Holly and Tim’s slide show again.

You are one terrificly, talented gifted person! God is certainly blessing you with talent!

Love ya and it was great to see you at yet another wedding

Deb S.”

If it weren’t for this business, I never would have met these wonderful people. It’s one of the coolest things about being a wedding photographer.
