change of location • photo sessions now in Holland

The photo session I had planned for Sunday, October 5th in St. Joseph has now been changed to Holland. I still have availability for a few more sessions that evening, so please contact me. It will either be at the State Park or Tunnel Park. It’s only a few weeks away, so call (616.822.7586) or email to get on the schedule.

show me your walls

I’ve been meaning to do a “walls” post for a while now. my sis-in-law Heather just sent me a shot of the pictures above their fireplace, including their favorite shot from the wedding in a gallery wrap canvas that Jeff surprised Heather with for Christmas and one from their engagement session at Tunnel Park in Holland.

Shannon + Brett’s wedding a year ago in April was such a fun day! They were a great couple and we had such an awesome time at the Van Andel Museum reception. Here are a few pictures from the wedding displayed on these cute shelves in their home.

In June, Lesley and Anthony had their wedding ceremony at Lesley’s parents home and while there taking pictures of the girls getting ready, I had to snap this picture of the living room wall. Lesley’s mom had all these prints from the family session I did for them last fall along with a couple from Lesley and Anthony’s engagement displayed so nicely. I’m totally inspired to someday do a photo display like this in my home.

chicago (area) sessions • sunday, sept 28th

I’m really excited to visit some friends in Naperville, Illinois at the end of this month. On our last day there, I am taking some family pictures for my friend Heather at the Riverwalk in Naperville and I am available to do a couple more sessions that morning before we head back to Michigan.

st. joseph sessions – October 5th

This session was probably the most fun I’ve had taking pictures in a long time. It was special to me because my cousin Joel and his fiancee came up from Indiana to visit and we went to the beach at Holland State Park for these pictures. It was a beautiful day! Very windy and warm. We had a blast! They are so cute together and so in love. It was wonderful to be a part of that and spend some time with them. We all love Sarah and are so happy she’ll be part of our family now! Here are a few:

Took a drive to Muskegon last Monday to meet up with Bonnie and Kyle for their engagement session. We went to P.J. Hoffmaster Park and fought off the mosquitos on our walk through the woods then headed down to the beach just in time for the beautiful sunset. The light was just gorgeous. We had a fun time chatting about their upcoming October wedding! Here are a few favorites:

lindsay + jim • 6.8.08 engagement | chicago engagement photographer

Jake and I traveled to Chicago on Sunday to meet Lindsay and Jim and take some engagement pictures around the city. We had such a great time getting to know them. They took us on the El and we walked a ways downtown, stopping here and there for pictures. It was hot and humid at first and we stopped into a Walgreens to get something to drink. Just after we left the store it started raining so we ducked inside a nearby building for shelter. Then it really started dumping down and the wind picked up. We watched people running for cover, umbrellas whipped inside out, water hitting the buildings and just falling in sheets. It was craziness. We headed out when it looked like it might let up and then it started again so we stood under an awning until it passed, then we decided to be brave and take a bus to the beach. Yes, we headed toward water in a thunderstorm. And there was lightning all over in the distance, too, but we didn’t care. What a great view of the city from the beach. Took lots of great pictures there! Then we headed back via taxi to their apartment for a few family pictures with their “baby” – a sweet sleepy cat named Major. ;) Here are a few images that caught my eye as I was going through them today:



We had to seek out the nearest Caribou Coffee because it is the place they first met. ;)





Thanks for showing us the city! We had a wonderful time. Can’t wait for the wedding! :)
